South Africa

This country of Nelson Mandela has beauty and variety beyond words.  Wedged between two oceans at the southern tip of Africa, South Arica stretches 2000km. This results in different climates from semi-desert to sub-tropical, winter or summer rainfall. There is always something to explore, irrespective of the season.

Cape Town with its iconic Table Mountain is one of the the world’s most scenic. The views are magnificent from the ocean, the vibrant V&A Waterfront, the city bowl and Constantia at the back of the mountain. Spectacular beaches on the refreshing Atlantic Ocean can be combined with breathtaking day trips to Cape Point, fine restaurants and luxury accommodation.

The wine region was greatly assisted in its development by migrants from France.  Some estates, at the back of Table Mountain date back hundreds of years whereas others are more recent. All offer excellent wines with tastings and, more and more, fine cuisine.

South Africa offers easy to reach safari destinations with the Big 5. Accommodation is provided in luxury lodges and camps with excellent guides which will awaken your interest in the diversity of nature.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.”, Nelson Mandela.
